I remember the first time I smelled stargazer lilies. I was 17 and roadtripped to Dallas to visit with a friend’s grandmother. I walked into her house and was greeted by the heady scent of blooming stargazers. I was gobsmacked. What scent poetry was this? Their fragrance filled the entire room and I was a goner. In that moment, I declared that “Stargazer Lilies” were my favorite flower. They continue to be all these years later.

You can imagine my glee when my son cracked the code by creating a scent that mirrored their smell, totally by accident. Often when I’m Switch Witching my children will ask if they can make their own “potion” alongside me. Sometimes magic happens.

Since that fateful day, I haven’t left the house without spritzing a few pumps of Ostara into my hair, creating the most beautiful scented crown while activating my curls. I am obsessed.

Created with sea salt and distilled water, I imprinted this blend with the energies of a rare astrological event, both a new moon and solar eclipse on March 29, 2025, leaving the salt water outside for a full 24 hours.
